If you could go rabbit hunting with ONE Person from this board that you have NEVER MET in person......who would it be and why??
There are a lot of you that I have met and would love to hunt with and several I haven't met.......but I can only pick one.
I would pick....
mcardery2k
I love his video clips and have been reading his posts for years. He has nice dogs and has a good online personality and doesn't bark off track much, lol. I think hunting with him would be a blast......although we might have to hunt down here in GA so I don't have to deal with the snow lol! |

My pick would also be Mark . He spends a lot of time with his dogs and they not only hunt well and know how to run a rabbit but they handle great!!!
For a gorup hunt someday I would love to get together with Mark and Don Carder, Gene Felton and Ron Asbury. Even though we are from a totally different part of the country I would believe we would have a blast. Not necessarily for a hunt to kill but just to run the dogs.

Boy is this easy. KEVIN. Scroll on down.
Kevin: If you have any vacancies just call Larry Dunn at 615-390-1776. I enjoyed your pictures and seeing your dogs. You have figured out what beagling is all about - no fussing over judges, badmouthing someone else's dog - just enjoy your hounds and your friends.

| I have had the good fortune of meeting, running and trialing with the Carders and they are first class people. Gene & Ron are also first rate. I have also met some great people on this board that I have enjoyed talking with at trials like Ernie Jarvis, Gerald Waters,Carl Bulger,Randy Pinklton,Barry(enduranceman), John Brooks,Brian Lawrence,Richard & Jackeye Sawyer,Merv and a host of others. Because of this board I have got together and done alot of Hunting/Running with Steve Boardman (Coolbreeze). I did not know any of these people prior to the ESPOboard except Carl (Blurock)who I met while I was judging some females he entered under me at a trial. |

| My picks would be Mr. Nelson of Hardtimes Kennels or Mr. Wainwright of PromiseLand Kennels...These gentleman like many others always seem to convey positive attitudes, and are genuine in their posts. I have had the privelege of hunting with some beagle greats like Mr & Mrs. Butler of Choptalk Kennels, Matt & Cary Waskom, Nicky Pinson, Mr. Burgess of Boldcreek Kennels, Mr. Weinhorst of Ole Honest Dave's Better Beagles and many more great people. Never believed that such a small dog could open the door to such a wonderful community of people. I truly have been blessed in my brief time in beagling. |

| I think out of the few I haven't met, I would like to hunt with Dude. He seems like a cool enough guy, and our dogs would prolly match up well. I would also like to go down to the DEEP SOUTH and hang with the Nelson and Nichols families. Iwould have to believe theve got some tough hounds. One person I wish I could run into again is Ronnie Kilgore. Man what a class act. Great guy. |

I was going to say Bev but then I remembered that I've had the priviledge of running with her before.
I think hunting with Mr. Ollie Scott would be fun and a very good experience. I've never met him. |

| If I could pick someone to spend the day hunting and running with it would be Fred and Debbie Sheetz. I have met them one time however it was very brief. I would love to spend a day in the field with such nice people and a pack of field champions. I have never had the chance to see their dogs run but have heard enough about them that im sure it would be a blast. Im always looking to learn in this sport and im sure one could learn a lot from these two people. I wish they didnt live so far away.... |

| Hi Beagle Buddy! I like your pick of Mark! I never hunted with him but field trialed and visited plenty with him and his wife at Northern W.Virginia B.C. He is the most dedicated trainer I ever met, however, you will never know if he is serious or teasing. I think you should come North sometime! |

Okay, I thought about who I would love to go hunting with and I picked out several who would be fun to hunt with. Sam and Rita, maybe even leave Sam at home and maybe Rita would then give me some hints about how to train dogs to win. Joe Dan Carter a real knowledgable judge and a gentleman. Dan Nelson a young beagler who like several other Jr. Handlers are the future of the SPO.
After much deliberation I have come up with the person I would like to take hunting. It is the person who taught me more about dogs and life in general than anyone I know. My Dad Roy Kilgore who passed away in 1983. Dad was raised doing all types of hunting from coon and fox hunting at night to quail and rabbit hunting in the daytime. He was the best shot with a long gun (rifle or shotgun) I ever saw. He also knew more about hounds than I will ever know if I were to live to be 150 years old. He made sacrifices so that I could pursue my dream of hunting and trialing beagles. He helped me understand which dogs needed to go and which ones were keepers. The main reason I would love to take him hunting other than just getting to be with him again would be to let him enjoy hearing the dogs we run today. Just to let him see them work a check and hear their mouths as every dog in the pack would contribute to the race. I guess I am being a little selfish because I am sure he can see and hear them as they chase mr. Rabbit. So what I really want is just some more time with my dad.
I am sorry I didn't see the part about it being someone you had never met until after I finished my reply. |

I would love to go hunting with (edited: not a member of this board) because im betting that he wouldn't be such a jerk in person and he has some really nice dogs too.
merv, olie scott, bglenut, big city and many more all seem like great people. They would be fun to run with. |

I second the reply of wanting to hunt with my dad one more time.I hunt with two great friends today in Tim Barcus and Darrell wilcoxon.I used to hunt and run hounds with Mr. Grady Hoyle who did pedigrees until he died several years ago. I would love to hunt with him again.
Mark Carder would be a blast but he would have to leave his camera at home because I don't want anyone to see how bad my hounds are.
How would you like to have spent time with Willet Randal,Owen Payne, and Elmer Gray and some of the pioneers of our great sport?

i have never personally met dan tucker, but have spent alot of time on the phone talking dogs. hes like a hunting partner i never met. i appreciated mervs comment and the feeling is more than mutual. id like to have a day with alot of guys on here: joe(bullet), coolbrze, fred scheetz, laal and i like alot of what i read of mervs buddy dave condon, also dan ko and so many other good people on here.
i also read mr. kilgores post and it was about someone he knew and loved. i spend nearly all my running time with my dad, but always endeavor to learn more about him and want him to know more about me and my high opinion of him. hound hunting will always be about THAT for me. for the record, took my 8 year old boy hunting with me today- hes growing so fast and i meet a new and changing/growing person every day i go with him. thanks for the post, killerkudzu. chris berger |

Norman E Hale, Chester Berry, Wade Gladden, Ollie Scott. These 4 guys have meant alot to me and it has been an honor to know or have known them personally.
But if I could go one more time with Wilbur Rule, my father, on Thanksgiving morning and to have my sons Mason and Garrett and my 3 grandsons, Austin, Erik and Peyton would be the greatest of all greatness. (Top drawer and red letter day)
Dad lived from Dec 1919 until Nov 1978. I was 23 and Mason was 2 months. |
